The weather was not fantastic but ahead went Tredegar Ironsides RFC match at the Recreation Ground, I must say they have a strong loyal supporter base to brave the snowy weather! Sadly the Ironsides lost 37-5 to Talywain, the scoreline didn't do them justice and they gave a good performance in difficult conditions. Thank you to Tredegar Ironsides RFC and the supporters who held a bucket collection for my Appeal and raised a fantastic £140.08. Thank you all.

Today was the annual Christmas Eve visits to local residental homes in Tredegar by Tredegar Town Council, members of Tredegar Town Band and the Tredegar Youth Cafe Choir. Once again this year we received a warm welcome from all the homes and it was an absolute pleasure to bring some festive cheer. The singing from the Councillors - myself included - may not have been in tune but the Choir and the Band made up for that! A big thank you to Tredegar Town Band, Tredegar Youth Cafe Choir, Elite Travel (for supplying a mini bus), Councillors and all the residental homes for accepting our visits and making us feel welcome.

Even though Tredegar Town Council are based at Bedwellty House it was an excellent opportunity to explore it as a visitor and I must extend my thank to Nantyglo and Blaina Town Council for it. I was one of their invited guests who accompanied them on an offical tour of Bedwellty House and Park. Being a regular user of the House sometimes means you overlook the heritage and history it holds so to be able to take all this in as part of a tour was fantastic. The tour was followed with a light lunch in The Orchid House Tearoom at Bedwellty House and the food was lovely.

There could not have been a more fitting band to kick of the season and to celebrate this Centenary than our home town band, Tredegar Town Band.
