Tredegar Town Clock Open Day

Climb the Clock 2010

Saturday 25th September 2010 saw a crisp, sunny morning for the opening of the Town Clock to the public.

The challenge to "Climb the Clock" was taken up by over 100 people, and each one received a "Certificate of Achievement" to mark the occasion.

So far we are able to confirm that Mr Selwyn Morgan of Vale Terrace, Tredegar was the oldest person to climb at the age of 78!  We are still to confirm the youngest at this time - but it's very close!  Both the youngest and eldest will be invited to a future Presentation Evening for a special award.

The Clock was opened as part of the Civic Trust for Wales Open Doors 2010 Project, a part of the European Heritage Days initiative.

The Town Clerk, Christine Keane, on behalf of Tredegar Town Council wishes to thank all those who volunteered their help on the day and to thank everyone who took part.
