SUMMER 2019 BANDSTAND CONCERTS

Tredegar Town Council is delighted to announce our schedule of a full season of summer Concerts in the Bandstand.

The first Concert is on Sunday, 26th May, 2019 at 3.00 p.m. and the Council are delighted to welcome back Monmouth Big Band for their performance throughout the afternoon.

The Concert on Sunday, 2nd June, will feature the Oakdale Silver Band; the return of the Crosskeys Silver Band on 9th June; the Rogerstone Community Band on 16th June and Tongwynlais Temperance Band on 23rd June.

Sunday, 30th June, 2019 marks a very special day for us, once again, as Council celebrate Armed Forces Day here in Bedwellty Park.  This event, sponsored by Tredegar Town Council, raises funds for various military appeals and charities.  We are delighted to welcome the Royal Welsh Regimental Band, who will be providing the afternoon concert, and there will be displays and stalls - also other entertainment - from noon throughout the afternoon.  This commences the start of The Bevan Festival week, introduced by Tredegar Town Council, featuring a week-long list of activities organised and supported by the Town Council.  On Sunday, 7th July, Tredegar Town Band will be performing in the Bandstand, at our Aneurin Bevan Day event, concluding The Bevan Festival activities.

The Concert on Sunday, 14th July will see the return of Ebbw Valleys Brass Band and, once again, Council welcome the continued support of the Tredegar Male Voice Orpheus Choir on 21st July; concluding with a performance by Abergavenny Borough Band on 28th July.

Winding down to the last two Concerts of the season, sponsored by the Aneurin Leisure Trust; on Sunday, 8th July, Abertillery Town Band will play and, closing the season, on Sunday 11th August will be Markham Colliery Band.

All the Concerts, sponsored by Tredegar Town Council, are FREE.  They commence at 3.00 p.m. each Sunday and finish approximately 5.00 p.m.

You don’t have to be from Tredegar to come along and listen to the music, and enjoy the beautiful surroundings, of Bedwellty House and Park.  All visitors are most welcome!
